Bob Harper

Character

Health and fitness expert, television star and two-time #1 New York Times best-selling author, Bob Harper is one of the most successful lifestyle experts in the world as trainer on NBC's global hit show, "The Biggest Loser," which is currently shooting its 15th season.

His recent book, "Jumpstart to Skinny," released in April 2013, debuted in the number one spot on the New York Times best-seller list, bringing fans a three-week plan with 13 short-term rules that will supercharge weight loss. This followed the success of his 2012 book, "The Skinny Rules," which provides 20 simple, nonnegotiable principles to sustain a consistent and healthy lifestyle.

The success of "The Biggest Loser," his books and Harper's overall brand has afforded him the incredible platform to exemplify his passion and vigor as one of the most in-demand fitness specialists worldwide. His brand recognition and influence has led to the creation of his own DVDs, motivational speaking engagements and personal appearances, including his work with Michelle Obama on her "Let's Move" campaign.

Harper was raised on a cattle farm in Nashville, Tennessee, before making his way to Los Angeles in pursuit of his dreams. It was a serendipitous meeting with a trainer that motivated Harper to get into the fitness industry. Since then, he has received fitness certifications from the American Fitness Training of Athletics Association, the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America, Kettlebell, Level 1 CrossFit and CrossFit Olympic Lifting. Now, Harper has developed his trademark brand of fitness and nutritional integration that leads to lasting lifestyle transformations.

The popularity of Harper's "The Skinny Rules" inspired the upcoming launch of his three-disc program, "The Skinny Rules Workout DVD Series," which combines CrossFit style workouts that pair with the book's effective weight-loss lifestyle plan and recipes. His methods on "The Biggest Loser" led to the launch of his DVDs, "Bob Harper - Inside Out Method," a high performance, results-centered training program comprised of four discs featuring strength, cardio, yoga and personal training workouts, which was followed by three separate DVDs including "Ultimate Cardio Body," "Beginners Workout" and "Totally Ripped Core."

In addition to his books and DVD series, the renowned fitness guru created another branch to his lifestyle empire with "Contour Kettlebell" and his "GoFit" at-home fitness solutions. The contour kettlebell design is the first and only ergonomically shaped kettlebell created to reduce strain that may be experienced on the forearm during workouts.

As a result of Harper's ever-growing popularity as a trusted lifestyle specialist, Quaker Oats enlisted Harper as its lifestyle coach and advocate for living a healthier everyday life.

Harper's personal appearances range from "The Doctors," "Larry King Live," "Oprah," "The Tonight Show," "The Rachael Ray Show" and "Ellen," to being a regular on the Oprah Winfrey-approved show "The Dr. Oz Show" as a member of Core Team Oz, and his optimistic outlook, practical advice and gregarious demeanor is unmatched. His cover of "Men's Fitness Magazine" and features in "O Magazine," "Men's Health," "Entertainment Weekly" and "People Magazine" have successfully mirrored what his fans and followers around the country crave: Harper's motivation and inspiration to take charge of one's life.

He currently resides in Los Angeles with his dog, Karl, a Havanese mix, still regularly teaches spin classes in LA, and has an all-encompassing online workout club for his fans: www.bobharper.com
