After the mother of one of Michael Andretti's racecar drivers died of cancer, Michael helped start Racing for Cancer. Racing for Cancer unites motorsports fans, racing organizations, drivers and sponsors in support of the global fight against cancer. The organization focuses on early detection and prevention as well as raising awareness and support for fighting childhood cancer. The organization also does a lot of work with children who are stricken with the disease. Michael's mother is a cancer survivor, so he believes it's his duty to continue to fight this disease any way he can.
