Jennifer Esposito stars as Dr. Monica Pena in the NBC series "Taxi Brooklyn."
Esposito's talent spans from the comedic to the dramatic, with an impressive body of work encompassing film, television and theater.
She previously starred on CBS's hit police drama "Blue Bloods" and opposite Christina Applegate on the ABC hit comedy "Samantha Who?" The Brooklyn native launched her TV career on "Spin City." Other credits include a recurring role on FX's "Rescue Me," a starring role on the WB's "Related" and multiple guest appearances on NBC's "Law & Order."
Esposito's most acclaimed film role was in "Crash," which won the Oscar for best picture and the Golden Globe for best drama film. The cast received both a Critics Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Esposito's film credits include her notable breakthrough performance in Spike Lee's "Summer of Sam," "Don't Say a Word" (with Michael Douglas), "Welcome to Collinwood" (alongside Sam Rockwell and George Clooney), "Taxi" (with Queen Latifah) and "Breaking All the Rules" (with Jamie Foxx).
Esposito studied for three years at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York.
