Sunday, July 12 and 19 on NBC (9-11 p.m. ET both nights)

Michael Rooker stars in NBC's new miniseries "Meteor" as Calvin Stark, a corrupt Los Angeles police officer who seeks revenge on his partner and family.

The oldest of nine children, Rooker moved from Alabama as a teenager, to live with his mother and siblings in Chicago, where he then attended the Goodman School of Drama. Upon graduating in 1982, he spent the next five years doing theater in Chicago and New York.

In 1986, Rooker made his feature-film debut and garnered critical acclaim for his portrayal as Henry in "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer." His spectacular performance helped launch his career, and since then he has appeared in the films "JFK," "Days of Thunder," "Eight Men Out," "Tombstone" and "Cliffhanger." He can also be seen in the upcoming films including "Bolden!" and "Cell 213."

Currently Rooker is directing the play "Down and Out" at Theatre 68 in Hollywood, California.
