Workshop on Its Way!

Greetings my Broadway biddies! In almost no time at all, all eyes will be on Miss Ivy Lynn as Marilyn Monroe... and Eileen Rand... and Tom Levitt and Julia Houston... and Derek Wills and pretty much anyone who has their pretty little neck on the line for this much-awaited production! As you know, Miz Rand pulled this workshop together faster than you can say David Hyde Pierce!

Oh how I looooove workshops! The anticipation, the hard work! The fresh faces! The vets! The music! The divas! The drama! The backstabbing! The tears! The reviews! The bloodshed! The backstabbing! Did I say that twice? Oh excuse me! I got a little carried away there. Or did I??? We all know how these things go, but we never know how they'll end! Rand has somehow kept both cast and crew mum about the workshop, but maybe everyone is too busy shakin' in their tap shoes to tweet the deets! As usual, I'll try to Riedel, ahem, weasel my way in but I may just have to wait and see like the rest of you!

Oh! Hello my fiendish gossip hounds! Before I begin, I would just like to say YOU'RE WELCOME. Eileen Rand's latest production has been tighter to get into than Marilyn Monroe's bustier! So you're welcome for being the sole soul-sucking B'way blogger to score so many juicy tidbits - and let me tell you, there are tidbits galore! By now, it's COMMON KNOWLEDGE that Little Miss Ivy Lynn has scored more with director Derek Wills than just the lead role - that was pretty evident after Lyle West's bday party (by the way, where was MY invite?!) BUT has all her hard "work" really paid off? My twinkle-toed sources tell me that Wills has been riding Ivy hard in rehearsals as well. Apparently, Little Miss Lynn has been struggling to get all of Marilyn's idiosyncrasies down! And she may have even needed some help from Iowa corn husk-turned-chorus girl Karen Cartwright. OUCH. Vocal help from a chorus girl? That's the stuff nightmares are made of. AMIRIGHTORAMIRIGHT? Hope he doesn't push Lynn too far - I 'd hate to see the girl crack before she makes it to that big Broadway spotlight! Wills seems to be working his ensemble to the bone... I wonder what Julia Houston and Tom Levitt have to say about it? They've been oddly silent in the Broadway world lately, I wonder what's been keeping them so preoccupied??

WHOA WHOA WHOA. Pull over MIZ Eileen Rand! You are driving WAY above the speed limit here on the Great White Way! Word has it that rehearsals have already started for her much-awaited Marilyn workshop. But it looks like it's not just Miz Rand that moves fast - my sneaky little Capezio-wearing sources tell me that Miss Ivy Lynn has really - and I mean REALLY - been doing her research on her newly-landed sexpot role. Was that her leaving Mr. Derek Wills apartment building VERY LATE the other night after the many-monied Lyle West's birthday party? Doin' the walk of shame to get to the walk of fame?! I think SO. I think SO A LOT. I think SO 100%. Well, honey, I guess blondes do have more fun... and get more lead parts in major Broadway workshops. But let's hope Little Miss Lynn stays on her toes - and not just in dance rehearsal - for my sources tell me Mr. Wills' sly directorial hand was on the ass of many a delicious donor the other night. Things seems to be getting rather loosey and juicy over at that workshop - and something tells me there's a lot more people getting worked on than just Ivy and her Marilyn. And 5, 6, 7, 8!
