Cathy has been volunteering at Castle View Elementary School for 15 years despite the fact that she is living with multiple sclerosis and uses a wheelchair. When she started volunteering she could only move two fingers and was teaching reading. She now spends most of her time with the drama program she started.
"Drama builds a sense of school pride through a sense of community and responsibility. I help children discover themselves, give them confidence. And I feel very accomplished at 6th grade promotion when most of the students receiving academic awards are my drama students."
