Born in Sudan, Khartoum, Kym E. Whitley, co-host of "School Pride," is a funny, talented, and driven quadruple-threat actress, producer, director and standup comedienne.
Whitley created and co-hosted her own evening talk show on BET entitled "Oh Drama!" She also starred alongside some of Hollywood's elite in such box office hits as "Fun With Dick and Jane," "Along Came Polly," "The Perfect Man," "Deliver Us From Eva" and "Next Friday." After a scene-stealing run as the hilarious, wisecracking secretary in the comedy series "Sparks," Whitley became a staple on television. She also co-starred with Vivica A. Fox in the film "The Salon," and appeared in "What About Brian" from acclaimed director/producer J.J. Abrams.
She guest-starred on such popular shows as the breakout hit "Grey's Anatomy," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Missing," "That's So Raven," "My Wife And Kids," "Love Inc." and "The Parkers," and most recently on the underground smash "The Boondocks" on Cartoon Network.
In addition to her film and television appearances, Whitley performs side-splitting standup routines weekly at Whacked Out Wednesdays comedy night at Sierra's Cafe in Studio City, California, with her "partner in laughs" Buddy Lewis. She also owns and operates Kwick Whit Productions, and has several projects in development.
