Jacob Soboroff, co-host of "School Pride," is the founding correspondent of AMC News. He hosts all news coverage on AMC including Opening Night and AMC News Specials, and he contributes to AMCTV.com, reporting from film festivals, movie premieres, award shows and conferences.
In addition to his duties with AMC, Soboroff serves as executive director of Why Tuesday, a nonpartisan group working to increase voter participation. Before joining AMC, Soboroff contributed to NPR's "Weekend Edition," and to the PBS series "Wired Science," a production of KCET, Los Angeles and Wired Magazine.
Soboroff has conducted on-camera interviews with a diverse group of "influentials," from Barack Obama, John McCain, and Arnold Schwarzenegger to Brad Pitt, George Lucas and Woody Allen. He received multiple Webby Award nominations, the Film Your Issue Award, and a Los Angeles Press Club National Entertainment Journalist Award for best news story.
During college, Soboroff was an advance man to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and presidential candidate Howard Dean. A Los Angeles native, Soboroff holds a B.A. in politics and an M.A. in political theory and philosophy from New York University. His website is jacobsoboroff.com.
