Michael Shanks is best known for his role as Dr. Daniel Jackson on Syfy's number one hit show, "Stargate SG-1," for which he was nominated for both LEO and Saturn Awards for best actor. He had a recurring role in the popular "Burn Notice" for USA. Shanks also appeared in the Emmy-winning "24," the Hallmark movies "Living Out Loud" and "Judicial Indiscretion," as well as Syfy's "Eureka."
Other past television credits include guest-starring roles on "CSI: Miami," "Stargate: Atlantis," Showtime's sci-fi series "The Outer Limits," NBC's telefilm "A Family Divided," and a lead role in UPN's telefilm "Escape to Mars," among others. He also co-starred in the Emmy Award-winning William H. Macy telefilm "Door to Door" and the film adaptation of Jack London's "Call of the Wild."
Shanks can next be seen in The WB's "Red Riding Hood," and the highly anticipated Neill Blomkamp film "Elysium," starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.
