SNL Muppet Mayhem

Hope you all caught the Muppet mention in Tuesday's promos with Jason Segel and Vanessa Bayer. They were funny and informative: now we all know that in the future, if a lady asks you what Muppet she would be, the answer is NEVER Miss Piggy. Ever. Perhaps that's why Miss Piggy is noticeably absent from this sketch where our cast take on the roles of Rowlf, Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal, Beaker, Zoot, Janice and the Swedish Chef for a Muppet adventure gone horribly awry.
The idea for this sketch was born out of two people's Muppet impressions: Andy Samberg's Swedish Chef and Seth Rogen's Rowlf. The writers here were eagerly trying to find places to utilize Andy's Swedish Chef impression since he first performed it during his original audition for SNL and they finally found their moment when Seth Rogen hosted his first time in 2007 and announced during writers' night that the only impression he could do was of Rowlf from the Muppets due to their similarly scruffy voices. And with that, the cast as Muppets sketches were born. Here, from Rogen's second time hosting, on April 4th 2009, is "Muppet Bus."
