Happy Birthday Seth Meyers!

Posted December 28, 2011 10:51 AM
It's Seth's birthday today so we thought we'd celebrate with some old friends: Tina, Jimmy and Amy!! It's a Weekend Update Joke Off! We had such a fun time when Fallon, Fey and Poehler came back to the desk, we thought there was no better way to honor Seth's birthday than to relive the moment. So kick back and enjoy the Weekend Update Joke Off from this year's Christmas show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon. Happy Birthday Seth!!

Merry Christmas!!

Posted December 23, 2011 8:42 PM
It's almost Christmas and to celebrate we thought we'd give you all our gift a day early: a collection of 25 of our favorite Christmas sketches!! Now it's easier than ever to gather 'round the laptop Christmas day with 30 of your closest relatives and share some laughs. In no particular order, we give you the 25 SNL sketches of Christmas!

Dad's New Girlfriend
As Weekend Update demonstrated, Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers have great comedy chemistry. Nothing used to make us laugh harder than when the two paired up in sketches, especially when it involved playing angry for laughs (see also "The Needlers.") Here we find Amy and Seth being absolute nightmares to arguably the nicest actress in Hollywood, Ellen DeGeneres and it could not be more enjoyable. Just pure, hilarious, comedy rage!

Christmas with the Cat Lady
What can we say, we're suckers for Robert DeNiro in drag surrounded by cats. The man was Travis Bickle!! And we put him in a cat sweatshirt and Christmas turtleneck! Genius.

Mister Robinson's Neighborhood
Mister Robinson is one of Eddie Murphy's most beloved and hilarious SNL characters, and his turn in this Robinson's Christmas sketch is no exception. So many ghetto lessons to be taught, so little time before the landlord evicts him...

Prince Christmas Special
Are you all ready for a Christmas Party Deluxe? Cuz it's Prince show, deck the halls yo! We love so much about this sketch: Fred and Maya's impressions, DeNiro as the first guest, and the requisite (for that time period at SNL) Star Jones jokes. So great!

Update Holiday Song: John Mayer
Jimmy Fallon nails it with his impression of John Mayer singing a holiday song. The impression may be super specific to early John Mayer, but it's still hilarious after all these years. And we truly believe that this is absolutely what a John Mayer holiday song would sound like.

Weekend Update: Paterson, Stefon, and Snooki Song
Another great Update holiday song moment came with the union of Update Feature favorites: former NY Governor David Paterson, Update City Correspondent Stefon and MTV's The Jersey Shore's Snooki. Never has such a scary ensemble been so funny!

Vincent Price Christmas Special
It just wouldn't be the holidays without a Vincent Price Special! This edition Price welcomes, Katharine Hepburn, James Dean and Liberace so let's all be cats in an empty apartment and enjoy this TV Land Classic!

Mark Wahlberg Talks to Christmas Animals
Andy Samberg's impression of Mark Wahlberg is so simple yet so hilariously accurate it is ridiculous. It all hinges on that one quip! And Wahlberg may have never even uttered it! So say "hi to your mothers for me, ok?" and enjoy this sketch!

Christmas Dinner - Hugh Laurie
There are no words for how much we love this sketch. What a fun and terrible family. Poor Judy really should just leave... maybe she can crash one of your Christmas dinners? Anyone need any additional weather smalltalk at their dinner tables?

Christmas Kangaroo - Hugh Jackman
It's so fun to learn about other culture's Christmas traditions. Those Australians certainly are a rough-and-tumble bunch. We're not sure our dads would have fared as well against the Christmas Kangaroo.

Glengarry Glen Christmas: Elf Motivation
We've got news for you kids, how do you think Santa achieves the numbers he hits each year? It's an elf rat race so learn your ABC's (always be cobbling) and be thankful that you don't have a boss like Winter's Breath.

Calculator - John Malkovich
This sketch just made everyone around the office crack up all week long. It's so weird, yet so joyful and fun, it almost makes us wish we'll find a calculator under the tree this year. Almost.

Two A-Holes in a Live Nativity Scene
Why these two get invited to do anything will always be a mystery... they're such A-Holes! But we do miss these characters and are happy for any excuse to revisit their sketches.

Steve Martin's Christmas Wish
Steve Martin truly gets the spirit of Christmas. You know it's weird, our Christmas wish list is nearly identical... you think two people can get all these wishes?

Dysfunctional Family Christmas
Enjoy this album of timely Christmas classics for the dysfunctional family because it's just not the holidays without some family drama.

Schweddy Balls
It goes without saying, no SNL Christmas list (or Christmas in general for that matter) is complete without some Schweddy Balls.

TV Funhouse: Snowglobe
The Christian TV Funhouse counterpart to "Christmastime for the Jews," "Snowglobe" takes a holiday classic and ruins it to hilarious results. Sorry Abominable Snow Monster, we've got bigger, more pressing concerns.

Cold Open: Bush Gift Ideas
Dana Carvey's impression of George H.W. Bush is so good that we don't remember what Bush is actually like. Turns out all our memories of the first President Bush are SNL sketches and this one is foremost in our minds.

Ladies' Man Christmas
No one should spend the holidays alone, especially not the ladies' man. Here's hoping you all have a classy lady (or gent) by your side this Christmas.

Adam Sandler Presents Cold Open
He may be the king of the "Chanukah Song," but that doesn't mean that Sandler is short on love for Christmas and Santa! So sit back, relax and enjoy Sandler singing his second most famous, December holiday song!

Three Wise Men - Rev. Al Sharpton
The three wise men get harassed by a cop on their way to Bethlehem and an angel covered in angel dust tries to come to their rescue. Just classic comedy stuff.

Holiday Treat for All
It's even funnier today because it's especially true: we wish it were Christmas today!! Have you guys heard the Julian Casablancas cover of this song? We highly recommend it. It rules.

Motivational Santa
He may live in a van down by the river, but he still brings holiday joy to all the girls and boys.

Master Thespian
Another page from the diary of the world's greatest actor, Master Thespian, in his greatest role to date: Mall Santa. Acting!

SNL Digital Short: Dick in a Box
It really is the gift that keeps on giving. Our holiday advice: be cautious opening any gift held at waist level. There's always the chance that there's a dick inside.

Happy Hanukkah!

Posted December 23, 2011 11:00 AM
We've been posting some of our favorite Hanukkah sketches to twitter and Facebook all week and because we're nothing if not accommodating, here they are all in one place! Enjoy!

Weekend Update: Adam Sandler "Chanukah Song" Feature
Watch Adam Sandler sing the "Chanukah Song" for the first time and give Jewish people everywhere a joyous and fun new holiday classic. We've wanted to spin the dreidel with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock ever since.

Christmastime for the Jews
A glimpse of what the world is like on Christmas day if you are Jewish! It's a time for Seinfeld, movies, Chinese food and blasting Barbra Streisand music in the streets!! All in claymation!

Chanukah Hymns
What could be better than an album of some of the most cheerful Chanukah songs available?! So many minor chords!!

Hanukkah Harry
When Santa falls ill, there's only one man who can step in and save Christmas: Hanukkah Harry! We love how classically Lovitz Harry is as a character and how understanding he is as a gift giver, naughty list be damned.

Chanukah Song Cold Open
Sandler came back in 2002 for a brief, but awesome cameo when he sang an updated "Chanukah Song" for the Cold Open with the help of a children's choir and Rob Schneider. Seeing Sandler back in 8H saying "Live from New York..." makes us so happy!!
