Bonus: More 'Top Gun' Screen Tests

Posted September 25, 2011 12:56 AM
The Season 37 premiere was jam packed, so much so that an additional set of screen tests for the Top Gun sketch did not make the live show.

Lucky for you, they did play it during the dress rehearsal and decided to put it online - enjoy!

Memorable Baldwin: Fred Armisen's Pick

Posted September 22, 2011 2:54 PM

Fred Armisen based his pick off a conversation he had with Baldwin himself. During a dinner recently (we get it Fred, you and Alec are friends), Fred said Alec spoke almost reverently about a sketch he did when he hosted in 1991 called "Cyrano." In this parody of the literature classic, Alec as Cyrano, attempts to woo a lady using the help of his friend Christian, played by Tim Meadows. Meadows' character knows all the right things to say, but is not himself a lady's man because he has an insanely ugly nose.

It's a great pick and a classic sketch...which unfortunately cannot go online due to music clearance issues. So instead enjoy another instance where Baldwin tackled lady troubles with 1993's "Gap Girls 2."

Memorable Baldwin: Bobby Moynihan

Resident Snooki impressionist, Bobby Moynihan knew exactly which Baldwin sketch was his most memorable, saying "I remember watching 'Some Big Shot' during rehearsals and thinking that this sketch was awesome. Alec and Jenny were both so great in it. And who doesn't love jokes about handjobs?"

From the finale of Bobby's second season, "Some Big Shot."
