Perhaps best known for portraying Anton Briggs in "Dexter," Ramsey can currently be seen starring in the Rodrigo Garcia-directed film "Mother and Child." This fall, Ramsey stars in the political satire feature "Nailed," opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel. Additional film credits include a supporting role in "Pay It Forward," "The Nutty Professor," and "Con Air."
Ramsey's versatility was showcased in his starring role as Mohammad Ali in the television biopic "Ali: An American Hero," where he received rave reviews for his portrayal of the self-proclaimed "greatest fighter of all time." Ramsey also starred in the title role in "Resurrection: The J.R. Richards Story."
Ramsey's talent has landed him recurring roles on a number of television series, including Starz's "Hollywood Residential," ABC Family's "Wildfire," "Ghost Whisperer," and Showtime's "Huff."
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Ramsey was bitten by the acting bug while performing in a church play. He later attended Wayne State University's Fine Arts Program, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In his spare time, Ramsey is an avid practitioner of the martial art founded by Bruce Lee, jeet kune do. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their two dogs.
