Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers serves as a Boardroom Advisor on this season's "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice." Rivers is an internationally renowned comedienne, Emmy-winning television talk show host, Tony-nominated actress, best-selling author, playwright, screenwriter, film director, columnist, lecturer, syndicated radio host, jewelry designer and cosmetic-company entrepreneur, but most importantly, she is a proud mother and grandmother.

Joan has enjoyed an illustrious career spanning more than four decades. After creating and hosting "Live from the Red Carpet" for E! (1996-2004), Joan returned to anchor that network's popular and successful franchise "Fashion Police," hosting both its hour-long weekly broadcasts and its awards-season specials.

Joan has also conquered the reality TV world along with her daughter Melissa in their weekly hit series on WEtv, "Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best?" This inimitable duo addresses the question that has plagued daughters since the beginning of time: Does mother truly know best? Her latest book, "I Hate Everyone...Starting with Me," a New York Times best seller, was published by the Penguin Group in June, 2012. Previous best-selling books include "Men Are Stupid and They Like Big Boobs: A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery" and "Murder at the Academy Awards: A Red Carpet Murder Mystery."

Also in 2012, Joan recorded her live concert performance at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois for a comedy special entitled "Don't Start with Me," which premiered on Showtime in November and was released on DVD in January 2013. In 2009, Joan starred in NBC's hit reality series "The Celebrity Apprentice," emerging as that season's winner. This significant event, along with many others, was featured in her critically acclaimed documentary, "Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work," which premiered in theaters nationwide in 2010 and is available on DVD.

Joan Rivers is a true pioneer, creating her own brand of irreverent, unconventional comedy and forging her remarkable rise to stardom in the entertainment world. Enduring tawdry clubs, Borscht Belt showrooms and grimy Greenwich Village cabarets, her comedy career skyrocketed in 1968 when she first appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson." Joan continues to dazzle live concert audiences in Atlantic City, Las Vegas and across the entire country. In October 2012, she returned to the United Kingdom and Ireland for a sold-out concert tour - her first since 2005.

She made television history as the permanent guest host of "The Tonight Show" and helped launch the nascent Fox Network in 1986 with "The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers." In 1989, Joan triumphantly returned to daytime TV with "The Joan Rivers Show," winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host.

Joan was also one of the very first high-profile celebrities to partner with QVC, and ever since its debut in 1990, her Classics Collection has continued to be one of the highest grossing fashion jewelry, apparel and accessories brands on the channel.

From her trademark question, "Can we talk?" to her red-carpet creation, "Who are you wearing?" the woman who asks all the right questions gets the answers America - and the world - want to hear.
