NBC Enterprises
NBC Enterprises is responsible for the global distribution and exploitation of NBC-owned product, which includes foreign and domestic program syndication, strategic marketing, and ancillary exploitation of owned product in home video, merchandising, licensing, music, and publishing, as well as strategic production and co-production alliances and co-ventures. This programming includes all shows produced by NBC Studios, NBC News, CNBC, and MSNBC.
NBC Enterprises creates and produces first-run programming for domestic syndication distribution. NBC Enterprises Domestic Syndication's current first-run syndicated programming includes Access Hollywood, The John Walsh Show, The Other Half, Weakest Link, The Chris Matthews Show, The George Michael Sports Machine, The Wall Street Journal Report, Rebecca's Garden, Starting Over, Wild Moments, and the off-network syndication sales of NBC's Providence. NBC Enterprises Domestic Syndication also distributes the first-run specials The Remarkable Journey and the Good Housekeeping Reports inserts.
CNBC
CNBC is the recognized global leader in business news, providing real-time financial market coverage and business information to more than 175 million homes worldwide throughout the business day. In the U.S. and Canada, CNBC is distributed to more than 86 million households, providing business news as a joint service of its parent, NBC, and Dow Jones, publisher of The Wall Street Journal. In addition to its headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., CNBC has news bureaus in midtown Manhattan, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Palo Alto, Singapore, the Nasdaq MarketSite, and the New York Stock Exchange. MSNBC is a partnership between NBC, a leading provider of news and information, and Microsoft, the leader in personal computer software and a major provider of Internet online services. Built on the worldwide resources of NBC News, MSNBC delivers breaking news and in-depth coverage to 78 million households on cable 24 hours a day and up to 20 million unique users a month on the Internet. MSNBC has established itself as America's news leader on cable and the preeminent Internet news site by providing comprehensive breaking news, as well as reporting the day's top stories. MSNBC premiered in July 1996 to 22 million subscribers, the biggest subscriber base ever for a new cable service. By developing programming simultaneously for cable and the Internet, MSNBC offers truly integrated television, interactive news, and dynamic discussion of topical events.
NBC Cable
NBC Cable is responsible for distributing CNBC and CNBC World (owned by NBC), Bravo, MSNBC (a partnership with Microsoft), Telemundo and mun2 (owned by NBC), and ShopNBC (owned by ValueVision International, GE Equity and NBC) to cable-television systems and satellite-television providers across the country. NBC Cable also offers affiliate relations and local advertising sales services for these networks. NBC Cable also maintains interests in the Arts & Entertainment Network, the History Channel, and National Geographic Channels International.
Paxson
NBC has an interest in Paxson Communications Corporation. Paxson is a broadcasting company whose principal business is the ownership and operation of PAX TV network, the largest broadcast television station group in the United States. PAX TV's focus is on family-friendly programming.
