Since 1989, NBC's THE MORE YOU KNOW public service campaign has been a widely recognized brand in the community. This longstanding and esteemed effort has produced Emmy and Peabody award-winning PSAs that educate and raise awareness about important societal issues. The campaign has also provided valuable referral and resource information through on-air public service announcements, print materials, local community outreach efforts and programming.
THE MORE YOU KNOW'S powerful and innovative public service announcements have effectively communicated messages ranging from domestic abuse to designated driver. The PSAs encourage action and involvement through hotline numbers and a website address which guide viewers to local agencies. Under the banner of THE MORE YOU KNOW, NBC's affiliate stations across the country produce PSAs that address topics of local concern. Stations also implement numerous community outreach activities such as adopt-a-school initiatives and health and education fairs. We invite you to explore our TOPICS area, which features subjects covered in THE MORE YOU KNOW'S current campaign.
NBC's THE MORE YOU KNOW public service announcements reach approximately 63 million viewers each week during NBC's line-up in primetime, latenight and Saturday morning programming. Hundreds of stars have appeared in THE MORE YOU KNOW spots. View the directory in the STARS section to survey the celebrities who appear in this year's THE MORE YOU KNOW campaign and the topics they address. Perhaps the most important function of THE MORE YOU KNOW and this website is to provide NBC viewers with critical links to organizations that provide information and assistance. Please use the REFERRAL LINKS section featured on this site to access information on any of the topics featured in this year's PSAs.
Each week, NBC's award-winning THE MORE YOU KNOW PSAs are incorporated into DISCOVERY KIDS ON NBC - the Network's new Saturday morning block of educational and informational shows for kids (10:00am - 1:00pm ET). Speaking directly to teens, these messages focus on bullying, diversity, anti-smoking, and other relevant issues.
