Episode 3

Danny! Oh no, no, no Danny! What happened here my friend? What just happened? The sweetest, funniest and most warm-hearted Apprentice applicant to date~ gone! I'm devastated! The worst part is, I think DT knew it too and didn't even want to fire you, but you really did unfortunately make some mistakes and then brought in the wrong two people. At least bringing in Michael was wrong -- no matter how right it seemed to you at the time. You put DT between a rock and a hard place and you paid the price unfortunately. One must always take the big guy's lead in the boardroom. I even stated in my intro that sometimes you may feel strongly and want to bring one person in, but DT feels another way ~ hint, always take his lead. This was a perfect example of that. I'm so sorry you paid for it. The show won't be the same without you!

For the future and the rest of you, let me reiterate that one must never play with the "exemption" rule, ever! Remember Brad in Season 2? He was quite the opposite of Michael in this case. He worked his rear off and waved his exemption to prove it and look what happened to him. He was brought into the boardroom and canned! It was a devastating blow to our team. And to be honest, I thought what he did was very righteous. I respected it. I personally don't believe in the whole exemption thing and Michael is a perfect example of why. It was abused, but hey, here it is and don't mess with the big guy's rules ~ you'll be sure to pay for it.

Like I've said before, this game is tough. Much tougher than it appears to be from just watching it on TV. There are so many elements, people involved, money, time and pressure. It really is extremely difficult to manage, especially as PM in the beginning with a large team and even larger egos to handle. Every maneuver is crucial before you get into the true rhythm of the game. Once more people get fired and you find your rhythm, just look down that home stretch and let the real race begin. Until then this is all very entertaining for the rest of us.

Verna, what did you do? You made it this far, beat out hundreds of thousands of applicants, got onto the show and you quit? Are you kidding me? I'm speechless. Not even three tasks in! I mean, I know how hard it is, believe me, but that was just weak in my opinion. What were you thinking it was going to be, champagne and caviar every night up in the suite? No way! And in my opinion, if you're going to quit, do it with some gusto. One should walk into the boardroom, stand up directly in front of the big guy himself, point a finger, and say "I quit"! Then walk out of there, have a car service waiting downstairs, (forget the taxi) and leave in style. Now that would be good. But in this case Verna, I'm not a fan of quitters. Good riddance!

Now onto Michael, who I believe was another stand out of the season. What happened to you? You were incredible last week and a completely different person this week. Was it your exemption? Danny? Or maybe it was the fact that you didn't get to hire European super models, (laughing). What was it? Did you lose your motivation? Whatever led to the change in you could quickly lead to your demise. You made the big guy angry. One more wrong step from this point forward and you're cooked. I hate to say this, because you're quite entertaining, but you may be packing your bags pretty darn soon. You just better hope you win next week.

I have to be honest here, Book Smarts, it's just not looking good. Bren and Erin, you stepped up a lot this week and made some great points, but the rest of you are either playing under the radar (like Alex), getting fired, being threatened to be fired or even worse, quitting. C'mon guys, you better pull it together and quick.

Street Smarts, great job, well done! Angie, although I haven't really been able to pinpoint your personality exactly yet, you brought home a nice win. Coffee hot or cold seems like a no-brainer, but I know it wasn't that simple. Great presentation as well with the debate. It was brilliant and you executed the task seamlessly. Kristen, you really regained your credibility after last week's debacle, worked hard and deserved that win. John, one of the strongest players in this game so far, you were as good as ever, keep it up, it's quite inspiring. You really play a great game. Tana, we are getting to see a bit more of you these days and I think that's great. You tell it like it is and always in a charming, salt of the earth type of way. I loved your commentary on Angie, comparing her to a mother on Thanksgiving morning. You say what we at home are thinking. I want to see more of that, it's hysterical. Chris, you stepped up as well, and I'm turning into a believer. You're tough and to the point. Good work. As for Audrey and Craig, you still remain my "under the radar players". Like I've said before, something I'm not a big fan of, but I'm sure it will get you far. We'll see if you keep sliding by with this approach. My guess is you will. It's sneaky, but it works.

Great win and even better reward, Street Smarts. I hope you enjoyed it. There is nothing more inspiring than flying over Manhattan in a luxury helicopter drinking champagne. Absolutely nothing! It is a truly breathtaking experience. I remember how much I enjoyed it last season when we flew out to the Hamptons to visit with Denise Rich. It brought back great memories! Simply incredible!

I'll end here now without half as an entertaining an exit as my boy Danny singing his taxi confessional goodbye. Although it broke my heart, that was the best Danny. I hope we see a comeback from you on a future episode. Until then, you'll surely be missed.

Best of luck to the rest of you!

Most Sincerely,
Your Apprentice Alumna,
Jennifer D. Crisafulli
