Episode 1
Wow! I have to say, this first episode was fantastic! I loved it! What a cast of characters you are! It will, unlike our Season 2, be difficult to see most of you get fired. You were thoroughly enjoyable to watch! You guys are not only tenacious personalities, but also quite funny at that! I must admit though, as the 8:30pm premiere rolled around, I was as nervous for you as I was watching our own first show, but all I have to say now is..."Unbelievable!" ~ Thank you Danny!
Of course, the show begins with the big guy arriving in front of Trump Tower exclaiming, "My name is Donald Trump. YOU KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT ME!" What? I mean I've heard a lot come out of that man's mouth, but are you kidding me? I was on the ground in tears laughing. He doesn't cease to amaze me, that man! That was a topper DT ~ great intro!
So, Book Smarts vs. Street Smarts, huh? Very clever. Very, very clever! It completely changes the whole game and I must admit, I believe for the better! It was so much fun to watch, but right off the bat. I think I am a fan of Street Smarts. Sometimes you just can't beat experience. No book can teach you that. Plus, with folks like Kristen, Brian, John and Tara on your side, it's going to be a tough competition!
However, Book Smarts, you do have Michael, Erin, Bren and of course, Danny. Danny, whoever verbally beat upon you needs a good beating themselves. You're absolutely adorable, fun and you made the whole night thoroughly entertaining! Don't let them rip on your clothes! You worked your ass off on this task, as "unconventional" as it may be, you did it kid!
What I find interesting as we begin this journey is that I'm noticing although this season is set up very different from the first two, there are already a lot of close similarities. That is, how "the game" is being played and how people choose to play it. Some of you are upfront, stick your neck out on the line and speak up and others are already appearing to sail right "under the radar". Although I respect the ones who go out on a limb, it does in fact increase your chances to be fired. The fact is, you're an easier target when the going gets tough. The ones who sail under the radar are usually the slick talking finger pointers that tend to make it further in the end ~ sad but true.
On The Book Smart side we have Michael, Bren, Danny, Verna and Erin telling it like it is and sticking their necks out. Alex, Stephanie and Kendra on the other hand may be official "under the radar" players and could make it far. Alex, I have to be honest, I didn't see much of anything from you but just a lot of complaining, talking and finger pointing instead. Stephanie, selling Danny down the river was totally uncalled for. And Kendra, although I respected how you handled yourself and DT in the boardroom, I have a feeling you could really be the official "under the radar" player and make it pretty far.
On the Street Smart side, we have a lot of the same. Kristen, Brian and Angie may really stir the pot and could be a lot of fun to watch, but watch out instead! I can't foresee a long future at DT's organization.
With that said though, ANYTHING is possible in the boardroom. After all, we have only hit the tip of the iceberg on task one. There is a lot less sleep to be had. We will get to see tons more clashing of personalities I'm sure.
I'll end here by saying goodbye to Todd. The first fired. It was unfortunately luck of the draw, my friend. I'm sorry, but there always has to be a first. I don't believe you did a bad job, it's tough being PM, especially on the very first task. At least you had a very classy exit. Well done!
For the rest of you, hired or fired, try and enjoy all of this. It is after all an opportunity of a lifetime and you made it this far. Congratulations!
Sincerely,
Your Apprentice Alumna,
Jennifer D. Crisafulli
