Wondering what's happened to last season's candidates? We caught up with some of them and here's what they had to say about their Apprentice experience.
TROY McCLAIN
How did appearing on The Apprentice change your life and/or career plans?
My appearance on the Apprentice not only changed my life but my family's as well. After the show sure, I got the regular job offers but more importantly, I have received offers for my family's behalf, such as doctor's offering to help my Mother with her Lupus, and community business owners offering to give my baby sis a job. Most importantly Mr. Trump offering to pay for my education! I owe all this to my wife, because if it weren't for her making me send my tape in I would not be writing this to you right now! Thanks Crystal.
My career plans have stayed the same. Take care of family and work as hard as I can while having fun at the same time. I will say, that I have discovered a new platform to obtain this goal. Public speaking has been great for my family and for my career. I can talk about being true to family, having fun and working hard. Most importantly, nice guy's can finish first! (At least in the top five.) I have also started a credit awareness DVD and a website troymcclain.com. Life is good!
What were the best and worst things about the experience?
The best thing about the experience was being there. Getting to share a part of my life with America and making my wife and family proud! I got to show myself and everybody else, If you don't know you'll never know!
The worst thing was not being able to go through the interviews and the end, Hell, I would have loved to have had that chance. But maybe next time!
Who, if anyone, from the show do you keep in contact with?
I keep in contact with a lot of people. Kwame of course, he's a good man and a good friend! Bill as well, Heidi, and even Omarosa! At the end of the day we all had a great experience and we are all bonded together with the experience.
In your opinion, what three words best describe Donald Trump?
The best three words that describe Mr. Trump in my opinion are, "Only in America!" He is the reason you want to live in this great country. He is a representative of what happens when you work hard and don't take "no" for an answer!
What are you up to now?
I have been getting a lot offers to host TV shows and do voiceover work. The greatest thing is I have been asked to write a book with all my "Troyisms!" I knew that I had a lot of sayings, I just never knew anyone wanted to see them in print!
What advice can you offer to the new Apprentice candidates?
This question gets asked a lot of me, I guess the best thing I could say outside of the regular, "be yourself" thing, would to be prepared if you make it. Think ten steps ahead.
