Episode 13

Ivana's new career...

Trump, being a chocolate lover, enthusiastically informed the teams that their next task would be to work with M&M/Mars to sell a new candy bar. The team had to produce their own candy bar in the factory and then pass inspections. Their inventory would be limited to only the candy that passed the strict standards of the company.

As project manager, Ivana had several unique challenges. First, she had to manage her relationship with Kevin. It is obvious that the two have a strong alliance, however, when it gets down to the wire this can become a hindrance. During this very complicated task of producing the actual candy bars, Kevin took initiative and made adjustments to the assembly line as he saw fit. He did not consult Ivana on his decision to slow the line down. Nor did Ivana put him in check about stepping on her toes as project manager. Clearly their alliance is weakening.

On team Mosaic, Sandy and Jennifer M. were clearly at a disadvantage in terms of manpower. They realized that they would have to work smarter and not harder in order to prevail in this task. Unfortunately, several trays of candy bars ended up in the garbage because there was no one there to retrieve them. Nonetheless, the ladies made progress in spite of their tortoise-like pace. The duo presented their finished product to the inspectors who were baffled by the small quantity produced. Sandy and Jen quickly won them over with the quality of their bars. The total bars approved by the inspectors was 290. Apex received approval on 323 candy bars.

Jennifer and Sandy considered how they could best work together to sell more of their product than the other team. They took a page out of the playbook of the Season One team Protégé lemonade task. In that task, the women of Protégé utilized their attractiveness and sex appeal to sell significantly more lemonade than the men of team Versacorp. Jen and Sandy did not have the numbers that team Protégé had, but they certainly had the sex appeal. They both coordinated their wardrobe down to the color of their highheels. The effect was noticed as soon as they hit the streets of New York. There is one thing for certain, New Yorkers love pretty ladies!!

Team Apex had a clear advantage in terms of the number of candy bars that they had produced, but they lacked the eye candy they needed to sell their bars at a high price point. Kevin realized this and decided to sell his bars for one dollar. Once again, he made an executive decision without consulting with his project manager. Ivana was informed by a customer that there were two blondes selling the exact product for $5 a bar. Ivana freaked out!! Ivana decided to go head-to-head with the M&M Sisters. She convinced her team to help her find them and then attempt to steal business away from them with a lower price. When this did not work, she came up with another plan. Ivana offered a bonus to a customer if they purchased her bar. She offered the candy bar and she offered to pull her skirt down for twenty dollars. She got a taker, and down her skirt went!! (Her stock with Carolyn also went down, as she observed this spectacle in complete awe and disappointment.) Ivana did not just do the M&M striptease just once.

At the task resolution, Trump revealed that Mosaic beat Apex by nearly $500 in sales. Mosaic won the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Bill Rancic, the Season One winner.

Apex had to face the Trump Trio in the boardroom. Trump wasted no time getting down to business. Why did this team lose to two women who hated each other just days before? Ivana could not come up with a clear answer so she went after Kevin. Kelly was exempt so he offered no real insight into who should be fired.

Trump wanted to get clarity on the stripping incident. Ivana offered no real defense other than desperation. Carolyn was clearly not pleased with Ivana's decision to strip. George however did not see it as a bad idea. Carolyn described the striptease as horrendous. After a short deliberation, Trump called the team back into the boardroom. In the end it was Ivana's losing record and her repulsive decision to show her bikini bottoms to strangers that made her the clear target. Trump made it clear that Ivana would not fit into his organization. Ivana, YOU STRIPPED so YOU'RE FIRED!!!
