What is your definition of success?

I would define success as getting done exactly what you set out to get done without compromise - not an easy thing to do.

Who do admire both personally and professionally?

Personally, I admire my grandfather the most. Here is a man, without the benefit of a formal education who grew up in the Jim Crow south but loved this country enough to enlist in the military during WWII during which time he was wounded and almost killed when he was captured by the Germans; raised four children, with my grandmothers help:), to be doctors, ministers and successful business people; not to mention holding down over 50 years of marriage all the while without a bad word to say about anything. I am proud to be his grandson and I hope that one day I'll be half the man that he is.

Professionally it would have to be my parents. I watched them fight to get a company together at a time when EVERYBODY said that they couldn't do it. I watched them agonize over decisions to put all of their money into a dream at the expense of my brother, sister and I not knowing whether or not it would pay off. But the most important thing is that I watched them, despite all of the naysayers and pitfalls and bad times, succeed. So many young African-Americans are told to "work hard and things will pay off for you" without those same people being able to show us examples of people that look like us doing just that, succeeding. My parents, along with people like the late Reggie Lewis or Dick Parsons at AOL/Time have given me and all of the young African-Americans out there one of the most precious gifts that you can give to someone who is trying to make it - HOPE.

What did you learn from the last season of The Apprentice?

The most important thing I learned from watching Season I of The Apprentice was that DT takes no sh*t. The worst thing that you can do in the board room is try to bullsh*t DT and he will eat your lunch! (see Sam from season I)

What has been your biggest challenge in the pursuit of your career goals?

The biggest challenge that I have faced in pursuit of my career goals has been overcoming the stigma, and subsequent judgments that accompany such stigmas, not just of being black, but of being young, of being an athlete, and of being unafraid. I have been lucky to work on a level that is well above the level that most people my age have been exposed to. As a result I was that much farther removed from those that I had to work with, and against, therefore it is always imperative that I present myself not as that young, brash, black male that they will see on my resume but instead as the diligent, intelligent business mind that I am.

If you had a super power, what would it be and why?

If I had any super power it would be the ability to retain, absorb, and process information at a super human rate. Basically, I'd be the smartest person in the universe and because I would have the ability to absorb new information, I could hold the title because I could keep on learning! I mean, really, think about it, besides the obvious upside of being able to come up with cures for virtually any disease out there subject to the bounds of human knowledge, I could make money doing ANYTHING! I could make a quarter million a week on jeopardy if I wanted to!
