(continued)
As a final sign of unity, the women arrived at their pitch meeting in matching flight attendant outfits. Finally, Omarosa had her moment when she led the presentation. The phallic campaign looked very professional and stunned the Deutsch team a bit. Nervous laughter filled the room. Then Heidi took over to explain the broadcast strategy and present the on-air campaign. Finally, Amy stood and wrapped things up with a summary of their campaign and marketing goals.
The guys were frantic only moments before they entered the room. Nick, who does sales presentations for a living, tried to advise the guys on good presentation techniques. In the conference room, they unveiled their print campaign and also fired through a PowerPoint presentation that outlined their objectives and overall concept. As a parting gesture, the men offered cigars to the Deutsch team. Once the men left the room, Donny Deutsch and his team reviewed the campaigns.
While both groups were deemed professional and organized, the women's edgier campaign was a fresh alternative to the men's more traditional campaign. As one of the Deutsch team members put it, "the men had more steak and the women had more sizzle." The teams were called back into the room where Donny Deutsch had the final say. First, he got Donald on the phone and then he broke the news. While he questioned the direction of the women's campaign, he appreciated their enthusiasm and creativity. The women had won the challenge. As a reward, the women were off to Boston that night for an elegant dinner. The men, unfortunately, were off to the boardroom where someone would be fired.
At the end of ladies' night out, things got heated between Omarosa and Ereka. Omarosa claimed she had a migraine and was exhausted; therefore, extra cranky. Ereka felt like it was a personal attack against her. Either way, it didn't bode well for future team efforts. The next day, while the women licked their wounds, the guys prepared to meet The Donald and his consultants. Donald's first words were "Here we go again." Project Manager Jason was soon in the hot seat. Nick had kind words for Jason, but Sam did not. Troy felt that Jason's decision not to meet face to face with the Marquis clients was a crucial mistake for the team - and Donald agreed. Jason chose Sam and Nick to join him on the chopping block: Sam, because he literally snoozed during the team effort and Nick for reasons even Jason couldn't explain. Once the guys stepped outside, George made a case for eliminating Sam. Donald thought Sam was destined to either get a company in huge trouble or take it to new heights. Donald also said he didn't think Sam had anything to do with the guys' failure on this challenge. The guys were brought back in and Donald made his final decision. Before he could say anything, Nick demanded to know from Jason why he was chosen. Jason still had nothing to say except that he "had to pick someone." Donald reassured Nick that he would not be fired. When Sam tried to defend himself, Donald calmly said, "In many respects, you've been a disaster Sam." Not a good sign. However, in the end, it was Jason who was sent down to the street - not Sam.
