When the items in a Christmas gift exchange are fly covered squid, dragonflies, worm sausage and ant covered cod egg sacs how do you decided which gift you want the most? Fear Factor contestant Daren Ferden chose to eat the worm sausage; sausage casing filled with live nightcrawlers, super worms and red worms.

FEAR FACTOR: Why did you pick the worm sausage?

DAREN FERDEN: Well this summer practicing for "Fear Factor" I ate one worm. So I thought I had an advantage if I would pick the worm sausage. But I got in over my head out there.

FEAR FACTOR: Once you started eating did you want to change your gift?

DAREN FERDEN: When I was sitting there looking at the worm sausage I could see all the different color worms moving and wiggling. Meantime my stomach was just moving and wiggling and when I took my first bite I said "oh man I wish I would have picked the dragonflies. "

FEAR FACTOR: Was the worm sausage difficult to eat?

DAREN FERDEN: I chewed and I chewed and I chewed and I just kept it in the side of my mouth and I knew I had to swallow and after I swallowed it once I knew I was going to be in for a long time.

FEAR FACTOR: What did the worm sausage taste like?

DAREN FERDEN: It's gross, they weren't even regular worms. I think they were caterpillars 'cause they had legs on the bottom of them. They were sick. And then the night crawlers were long. It was the grossest thing I've ever had to do.

FEAR FACTOR: Did the smell of the worms bother you?

DAREN FERDEN: The smell wasn't that bad but if the worms fell back on the plate I could see like dirt back on the plate and I knew all the worms had dirt inside them.

FEAR FACTOR: Did you know that the dirt was actually worm poop?

DAREN FERDEN: Worm poop. I was eating worm poop? I thought it was dirt.

FEAR FACTOR: Did you think you were going to throw up?

DAREN FERDEN: I was really close to throwing up numerous times. Joe helped me through it. He just got me focused. I had to keep it down. It was coming up but I just had to keep my mouth closed and let it go right back down.
