*PATRIKA DARBO*: Well, having never had children, I don't have any
personal
experience to draw on, and so I have to draw on others expeirences. I
always
have Kristian Alfonso on hand to ask questions, and she's a doll.
=Question=: Dove asks:
This is for Patrika: How will Nancy feel when Craig finally tells Nancy
that
he is Chloe's real father?
*PATRIKA DARBO*: Well, I think you'll just have to watch to find out
(laughs).
=Question=: schauerjs asks:
I just wanted to say that you're a great actress. Is the baby going to
live? How do you like working on Days?
*PATRIKA DARBO*: Thank you very much. I appreciate your kind words. I
love
working on 'DAYS' (laughs). You'll just have to keep watching!
=Question=: ToeKnee498 asks:
How did you get onto Days of Our Lives?
*PATRIKA DARBO*: They called me up, and asked me if I would do the
role. I
knew the casting director, and she knew me, and she had my picture, and
called me one day. My reputation preceded me (laughs). I didn't have to
audition.
=Question=: tell-me asks:
Hi Patrika. I love your book, and thank you for all you do. Do you
think
Nancy should tell Chloe about being raped? I think it will bring them
closer. Thank you for all you do.
*PATRIKA DARBO*: I think you'd better keep watching the show (laughs).
There are a lot of really good things coming this month, and probably
in the
first part of January...but a lot of information will be told this
month,
and everyone should be very happy with what they see.
=Question=: {Guest-111} asks:
Patrika, what is the best part that you like about being on Days?
*PATRIKA DARBO*: I don't want this to sound cliche, or just because I'm
talking to everyone, but I think the fans have to be one of the best
things.
I've done feature films and nighttime televison, and I think the
daytime
fans are among the most loyal, dedicated people that I've ever met, and
since I first started on the show, several have become very close
friends.
=Question=: Beth asks:
Do you think actors/actresses have a responsibility to educate, as well
as
to entertain?
*PATRIKA DARBO*: I don't know if we have a responsibility to educate,
because I feel that everyone has a personal responsibility to take
responsibility for their own actions. I do feel that because we are in
the
limelight, so to speak, that we have a responsibility, especially to
our
younger viewers, to set examples of good behavior.
=Question=: jimmiray69 asks:
Your character is usually quite humorous, but how do you prepare
yourself
each day to prepare for such an emotional story line? You are dong an
excellent job by the way.
*PATRIKA DARBO*: We get our scripts at least a couple or three days
ahead of
time, so that I can really work on what I need to do, and then when
there's
an emotional thing, the people that I work with - which is mostly Kevin
and
Nadia - give me a lot of support, and help me to get to where I need to
be.
We've become very good friends in a tight-knit family, even if it's
only on
television.
=Question=: Andrea04Angel asks:
Hey Patrika, I was just wondering... when Days approached you with the
Leukemia storyline, how did you react, and how has the vibe changed for
you
since this storyline has come about?
*PATRIKA DARBO*: First, DAYS doesn't really come to the actors. They
did
approach Nadia, because her father had passed away from the disease,
and
Kevin and my concern was that she was OK with it.
I'm not certain about what you mean about the vibe, but I can say that
as
for my involvement with the storyline and the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Foundation, and the Light the Night Walk which was incorporated into
the
storyline, I would continue to help them each year. I think it's a good
cause, and I met a lot of survivors, families of survivors, and
families of
people that didn't survive. They provided us with a lot of
information, and
insight on how to play it.
