Sami's life once again shattered around her when Brandon left her shortly after they wed. In an ensuing confrontation with Tony and Lucas, both of whom she believed were partly responsible, Sami fell through a glass door! The accident left her fighting for her life. Eventually, she pulled through but was unable to talk.
As Sami recovered from her injuries, both Tony and Lucas stayed close by her side. Lucas, the father of Sami's child Will, provided emotional support and the two sworn enemies found themselves growing closer together. Tony showered Sami with beautiful jewelry, and Ms. Brady found herself unable to resist the expensive gifts...despite warnings from her family and Lucas. Hoping to get back together with Brandon, Sami appealed to Brandon's father, Abe, but to no avail. Sami sweared revenge on Abe for standing in her way with Brandon. As a result, she became a suspect in his murder...as well as the subsequent murders by the Salem Stalker! When Sami herself was attacked by the killer, she was cleared as a suspect.
After Celeste predicted that John would ultimately kill Marlena, Sami became more determined than ever to get her parents, Roman and Marlena, back together. But Sami's wish would never come true. On the night of his wedding to Kate, Sami announced to her father that he was "dead to her" as a result of his decision to marry her enemy, Kate. Before Sami could make amends with her father, he was viciously murdered. Sami was left reeling as a result of her beloved father's death.
Meanwhile, Sami and Lucas grew closer as they shared the responsibility for raising their son, Will. Eventually, the two finally admitted their feelings for one another and made love. Now, as Sami and Lucas celebrate their engagement, they are (surprisingly!) the happiest couple in Salem.
