In the House: Jack and Jennifer
Investigative reporter Jack Deveraux was convinced there was a connection between Tony DiMera and Colin Murphy. He was determined to break the story for The Spectator.

When Jack's ex-wife and boss, Jennifer, learned that Jack was investigating Colin, she suspected that he was acting out of jealousy-since Colin and Jennifer shared a past. But Jack insisted that Colin was not on the up-and-up. After hearing Colin and Tony talk, Jennifer told Jack she agreed with him. Despite Jack's concerns, she decided to get close to Colin in order to get information on him. Jack and Jennifer began working together to get the goods on both Tony and Colin. But despite Jennifer's concerns about Colin, she had a hard time shaking her feelings for him-even while investigating him. At the same time, Colin remained determined to win Jennifer's affections--even while he continued his affair with Nicole!

When Hope was kidnapped, Jack and Jennifer drew closer and even shared a kiss. But Jack was furious with Jennifer when he learned that she knew about the set-up to rescue Hope and had not confided in him. Even though he didn't want to, Jack tried to separate himself from Jennifer. Meanwhile, Jennifer overheard Colin admit to Tony that he was an employee of Stefano's. Jennifer planned to get closer to Colin so she could get the goods on him. She vowed to bring down Colin by wearing a wire. In addition, Jennifer apologized to Jack for the situation with Colin, and admitted she hoped they could have a future together. On Christmas, the two finally put the past behind them and were about to make love when they were interrupted.

Later, Jennifer heard Colin threatening to kill Jack and did the unthinkable in order to save her ex-husband-she slept with Colin. Jack learned the truth and was devastated. Before the two could discuss the situation, Colin was found murdered! Believing Jennifer was the culprit, Jack confessed to the murder!

After Bo questioned Jack and Jennifer, the charges against Jack were dropped. Both admitted they were trying to protect each other. Later, Jack assured Jennifer he still loved her, despite her sleeping with Colin. Jack even stood by Jennifer's side as she feared that she was pregnant with Colin's baby. Fortunately, it turned out Jennifer was not pregnant. As a result of Jack's devotion, Jennifer could no longer deny her feelings for her ex-husband. This time around, she proposed to him! Jack joyfully accepted.

As Jack and Jennifer planned for their future as husband and wife, they have also embarked on a new business venture-their very own talk show, "In the House." In fact, business and pleasure mixed for Jack and Jennifer as they finally tied the knot...live on-air of their own talk show!
