Sweet Jennifer Horton returned to Salem from Africa to start a life without estranged husband, Jack. However, Jack soon returned to town and sent Jennifer's life into a tailspin! One of Jack's first moves once back in Salem was convincing Jennifer that they should move in together (even though they are no longer married), for the sake of their little girl, Abby. Jennifer finally agreed to his plan and the three moved in together. In his efforts to make Jennifer jealous (in order to get her back), Jack pretended to have feelings for his new friend, Princess Greta Von Amburg...but Greta soon began to fall for Jack and his kooky ways.
In order to make Greta believe she had no chance with him, Jack told the biggest lie of his life when he "confided" in Greta that he is gay! Unbeknownst to Jack, Jennifer finally figured out his secret, and began torturing him with her new-found knowledge! But it wasn't long before everything blew up in Jack's face. After a disastrous trip to Las Vegas, Jennifer confronted Jack about his lie. Jack admitted that he is not gay. Jennifer was furious that he once again resorted to such trickery and kicked Jack out of the house. Needless to say, Greta was also crushed by Jack's devious behavior. The princess left Salem, determined to start a new life.
Throughout all of these troubles with Jack, Jennifer has been dating Brandon Walker. Brandon is everything Jack is not-reliable, loyal, and honest. However, even though Jennifer is definitely attracted to Brandon, she is still pulled toward true-love, Jack. Of course, Jack would do anything to ensure that Jennifer does not wind up with Brandon...including team up with scheming Sami Brady, who wants Brandon for herself. Jack and Brandon are not the only men complicating Jennifer's life. While in Africa, Jennifer developed feelings for a man named Colin Murphy. Imagine Jennifer's surprise when she came face-to-face with Colin...in Salem! Jennifer was upset to learn that Colin was engaged. But Colin never made it to the altar...and now he wants Jennifer!
