After finally gaining custody of their biological son, Zack, Bo and
Hope
were determined to put the tragic baby switch behind them and move
forward
with their lives as a family.
But just when they believed the bad times were behind them, Bo's past
came
back to haunt them. On the night of the Gemini Meteor Showers, a meteor
crashed down in Salem and caused a single car accident. The driver of
the
car was none other than Billie Reed, Bo's ex-wife! An unconscious
Billie was
brought to the hospital. But once she awakened, she was determined not
to
let anyone see her. An opportunity for escape presented itself when her
half-brother Philip arrived at the hospital. Billie asked Philip to
help her
make a getaway. He agreed and brought her to see their mother, Kate. A
surprised Kate pressed Billie for information regarding why she was
back in
Salem. Billie claimed she was homesick and didn't want to be seen by
anyone
before she was ready. Kate was convinced there was more to the story,
but
she and Philip agreed to keep Billie's return a secret. Once alone,
Billie
made a cryptic call, reporting that she had arrived in Salem and that
Bo
wouldn't find out until she was ready... Later Billie showed up at
Salem
Place in a disguise, and spied on Bo and Hope.
Billie finally made her presence known in Salem when Abe told Roman
that the
top rookie from the police academy wanted to work with him. Bo and
Roman
were shocked when the new rookie entered and was none other than
Billie! Bo
was rocked as Roman told Billie he wouldn't work with her if Bo had a
problem with it. Billie stated her case and accused Bo of still having
feelings for him. Bo, fearing Hope's reaction, left to tell her about
Billie's return as Roman agreed to let Billie work with him.
Bo told Hope that Billie was back in Salem and working as a cop in his
precinct. Needless to say, Hope was not pleased and was highly
suspicious of
Billie's motives, despite Bo's reassurance. Once alone, Hope went to
the
police station and confronted Billie. Hope strongly stated that she was
confident in her marriage and that there was nothing Billie could do to
come
between her and Bo.
Meanwhile, Hope learned that JT (the boy she raised for nearly two
years)
needed surgery and decided to take Zack and fly to Iowa to be with him.
Of
course, Hope was not thrilled to be leaving now that Billie was back
but Bo
assured Hope of his undying love. Meanwhile, Billie was secretly quite
pleased to learn of Hope's departure. Billie believed everything was
falling
into place.
While Hope was away, Bo and Billie worked on an undercover case
together.
The two did such a good job together that the commissioner requested
that
they work together full-time. Bo was less than pleased with this
situation,
but had no choice but to comply. Billie was secretly thrilled to be
working
side-by-side with Bo. Meanwhile, she continued to make mysterious phone
calls to report her progress with Bo.
Hope was finally ready to return to Salem, but when Bo went to meet her
at
the airport, she was not there! Hope and Zack had been kidnapped by
Hope's
vengeful ex, Larry Welch. But that's not all-Billie was his partner! Bo
was
convinced Lexie was behind the kidnapping and began investigating her.
Things looked bad for Lexie since Larry was trying to frame her for the
crime. In fact, Lexie was even arrested! But Lexie's arrest (and
subsequent
faked death!) was all part of a plan to get Hope back. Bo had figured
out
that Larry was behind the kidnapping and had involved Hope's friends
and
family in a plan to save her. The plan worked and Bo rescued Hope.
Larry was
presumed dead during the fallout. But unbeknownst to the people of
Salem,
Larry was not really dead.
After the dust settled, Billie claimed to also be a victim of Larry's.
But
the people of Salem turned against her nonetheless--especially Hope's
friends and family. Eventually, Billie was exonerated after taking a
lie
detector test. But she planned to leave Salem anyway. Even though Hope
was
back home safely with her family, her suffering was not over. Hope saw
visions of Larry as a result of post-traumatic stress disorder. Hope
did not
realize that she was indeed seeing Larry himself, as Larry was
determined to
exact his revenge against the Bradys. Eventually, Bo figured out that
Larry
really was alive. After another attempt on Hope's life, Bo finally
captured
Larry and he was taken to jail. Eventually, Victor forced Larry into
confessing to Colin's murder. As a result, Larry was finally out of Bo
and
Hope's lives for good.
After Larry was put away, Bo certainly didn't have time to relax. He
had his
hands full with the new wave of crime on the streets of Salem. After
watching one too many criminals walk as the result of a dirty DA, Bo
had
enough. He turned in his badge so that he could fight for justice on
his
own. He sent off on his bike after a perp named Vin Ramsell. After a
while,
Hope decided to join him and the two nailed Vin together. They returned
home
triumphantly. Once home, Bo presented Hope with an idea. Since they had
worked so well together on the case, he proposed they become bounty
hunters
together. Hope agreed to his proposition.
