Rebecca grew up on a small farm outside of Iowa City, where her family raised horses, chickens, and honeybees. She grew up with three brothers and a sister. They were all expected to help out around the house and farm, as well as maintain jobs. Rebecca is proud of her family and feels that her childhood built an extremely strong foundation for the rest of her life.
Rebecca began gymnastics at the age of 2 and became a state champion 11 years later. During college, Rebecca, with no prior cheerleading experience, tried out for the University of Iowa’s cheerleading squad. She made the cut and has been on the squad for two years.
Rebecca is a part-time gymnastics teacher.
On their family farm, Rebecca often tended to the bees.
Rebecca loves the movie “Grease.”
"Having made the University of Iowa’s cheerleading squad with no prior cheer experience and then winning Miss Iowa USA 2012 with no prior pageant experience, I like to live by T.S. Eliot's quote, ‘Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go."
