What's real life like for a working nurse? Read on.

Recently, staff from Hollywood, Health & Society sat down with two real-life nurses and asked them to talk about their profession and how it impacts their lives. Jan is a registered nurse (RN) in a hospital burn center and Amanda is a registered nurse in an intensive care unit (ICU). Here's what they had to say:

Oddest experience as a nurse?
Amanda: Oh, so many, but one that stands out happened very recently: The other day I had a 90-year-old patient who was suffering from ICU psychosis, which is a state of delirium brought on from the drugs and sleep deprivation that can occur in the ICU. When I walked into his room at the beginning of my shift, he had the most confused and distraught look on his face and told me that he'd had the weirdest dream. He dreamt that he was in the hospital and his nurse's name was "Twinkle" and she was giving him a bath and singing to him. I just busted out laughing: His nurse's name that night WAS Twinkle and she WAS singing to him while giving him a bath!!!
