Anne Meara, who appears as stroke victim Estelle Thalberg in the November 4th episode of Mercy, is a Tony-nominated actress with extensive film, TV and stage credits. She won an Obie Award in 1953 for the off-Broadway production "Mädchen in Uniform." She has appeared regularly on the The King of Queens, Alf, Rhoda, Archie Bunker's Place, The Paul Lynde Show, The Ed Sullivan Show, and a variety of films. She has also teamed with her husband, Jerry Stiller, to perform as Stiller and Meara, a much beloved comedy couple. The pair has been married 56 years and have a daughter, actress Amy Stiller, and a son, comedy writer/actor Ben Stiller.
