Hometown: Rosario, Argentina; resides in Chicago, IL
Former "Ice Girl" for the Chicago Blackhawks, Yanina Beccaria is sassy and competitive, and she's not afraid to show it. Beccaria knows she's attractive and loves to flirt, but she's also willing to get rough-and-tumble. She used to play football until she tore her ACL. Even though she enjoys being single and having fun, she's feeling pressure to get married and start a family.
She remains an avid fan of the Blackhawks hockey team and considers a game, beer and nachos the ideal first date. Beccaria also co-owns a boutique nightclub in Chicago where she spends most of her weekends.
She attended the Illinois Institute of Art and currently works as an advertising account executive.
Why did you decide to take part in this show?
I wanted a time out from my Chicagoan work lifestyle and to get the chance to find a good guy in a romantic adventure type setting.
Would you call yourself an outdoorsy person? Why or why not?
Absolutely. I grew up in Argentina where I got to experience all types of outdoorsy activities such as hiking Los Andes, enjoying the beaches of Buenos Aires, horseback riding in Cordoba's hillsides and racing dune buggies in Rosario.
What are you afraid of?
Spiders. When I was a kid, I had a bad encounter with a tarantula in Brazil. And I'm also afraid of meeting and liking a contestant who is mainly enrolled in the show to get exposure for his career instead of finding a love connection. Commonly known as an actor. But if I had to pick, I'd rather play with spiders than actors.
What surprised you most about being in the jungle?
I was surprised to have learned to easily become content with very little. Like a hot water shower or a piece of pizza soon became the world to me.
What was the hardest thing for you to live without? What did you miss the most?
It was a bit hard to live without privacy. I never thought I would miss listening to music so much.
What would other people say are your best qualities?
As per my best friend Rosie: you can sell air, you are very personable.
Describe the worst date you've ever been on.
I was set up on a blind date with the "perfect man" who turned out to be an older man. He thought he was very cool too! Hay dios mio.
What qualities do you find to be most important in your partner?
Good old-fashioned family values, intelligence and caring.
Describe your ideal date.
When there is chemistry, any date is ideal, but if I had to choose then boating to an island would be nice. I'd hike to a waterfall with my date and spend the day swimming. Later have a nice meal by the beach and watch the sunset.
