Hometown: Kingsburg, CA; resides in Hollywood, CA
After recently getting out of a six-year relationship and living through her parents' split, Shauna Dillard is dedicated to finding true love and will not settle for anything less. Growing up on a farm prepared Dillard for getting down and dirty, which is exactly what she's willing to do to find the right guy. When this makeup artist and headband designer is not working, she's keeping busy with her favorite past time - yoga. Her favorite date involves sushi paired with laughter at a comedy club.
Dillard attended the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA. She is a dog lover and supports and cares for local shelters.
Whom did you feel most connected to during the competition?
Mike Sweet
Ultimately, are you happy the additional contestants were brought in to mix it up?
Sure, the more the merrier.
What was your favorite challenge and why?
I liked the first challenge because I had more support because I had two guys, not just one. Strength is in numbers.
Was there anything off-screen that you feel the audience missed out on?
That I am not always neurotic and crazy.
Any fun anecdotes or run-ins with nature you'd like to share?
There was this humungous green bug on my mirror; I was frantic and nobody could help me because of the language barrier.
What did you learn about yourself through this experience?
I learned to rely on myself, and when I left the show, I realized that the doors are closed on my past relationship and I am ready to find my one true love.
Why did you decide to take part in this show?
I wanted to be part of Love in the Wild because I thought it would be a great opportunity for an adventure after getting out of seven-year long relationship. I have never been out of the country so I thought it would be a once in a lifetime experience.
Would you call yourself an outdoorsy person? Why or why not?
I have always been an outdoorsy kind of girl.
What are you afraid of?
I am deathly afraid of spiders, snakes and the dark.
What surprised you most about being in the jungle?
People living in such poverty live on the most rich and beautiful land I have ever seen. Also how many people they can fit on the small bikes including infant babies, and how crazy the cab drivers drive.
What was the hardest thing for you to live without? What did you miss the most?
The hardest thing to live without was my fiber cakes, what I missed most was my mom, Hydee AnnMarie.
What would other people say are your best qualities?
I think some people would say my best qualities are my spunky, feisty, loveable personality and my creative aspirations to do and become anything I dream, with such love for my art, nature and life.
Describe the worst date you've ever been on.
It was my birthday and my date took me out for an expensive dinner, ordered everything on the menu and as the bill came, he proceeded to tell me he forgot his wallet. I had to pay the bill and he didn't even get me a birthday card.
What qualities do you find to be most important in your partner?
A gentleman who has traditional values in the words I love you and the meaning of marriage. He has to be attentive and caring to me, as I to him. I need a strong man who is goal driven in doing what he loves along with being independent where we can bring out the best in each other.
Describe your ideal date.
We would go for a bike ride during the day at the beach then stop over at the Santa Monica Pier while playing all the games until dark, proceeding walking along the beach while the only thing lighting the sky is the stars. It all of sudden starts to rain and we make love under the stars.
