A guy the girls will be fighting over. He won't be the one making trouble, but rather the one trying to get a good laugh from the bunch. He'll definitely throw himself into the experience because he's serious about finding love.
Miles's afterthoughts August 17th
Who did you feel most connected to during the competition?
Heather. That girl is simply amazing!
What behavior surprised you the most from the other contestants?
When you mix 10 guys and 10 girls there is sure to be some surprising behavior, and this was no exception. Some of the guys really had game and some, let's just say, were playing the wrong sport. And it surprised me how some of the people waited for something to happen instead of going after what they wanted.
Any fun anecdotes or run-ins with nature you'd like to share?
The Costa Rican jungle can kick your ass on these competitions. The terrain and the heat can really push your body to the limit. But no matter how gruesome it got, it was beautiful, and I never once took for granted how amazing the experience was.
What did you learn about yourself through this experience?
It reaffirmed my confidence that I can do anything if I put my mind to it and go for it 100%.
Why did you decide to take part in this show?
10 single ladies. Enough said.
Would you call yourself an outdoorsy person? Why or why not?
I love the outdoors. I enjoy doing all kinds of things outdoors and hope to try many other activities in the future.
What is your biggest fear or phobia?
Screw heights.
What surprised you most about being in the jungle?
I didn't know my body could produce that much perspiration. Pew…
What was the hardest thing for you to live without? What did you miss the most?
As we call it in Minnesota - pop. It was tough to come by in CR and I definitely missed it every day.
What would other people say are your best qualities?
Kind, down to earth, real, empathetic, sweet and I never take myself too seriously.
Describe the worst date you've ever been on.
I got set up to go on a blind date to meet this girl for drinks at happy hour. I showed up and she was sitting at the bar. I introduced myself and we started talking. She explained she had been at the bar already for an hour or so and that she was already on her third drink. She said she was nervous to meet me so she wanted to get a buzz before I arrived. Well the buzz didn't help and she was sweaty and awkward the entire time. I felt really bad for her and told her to relax multiple times but ultimately the lack of confidence was just too much of a turn off.
What qualities do you find to be most important in your partner?
Genuine, kind, funny, ambitious and confident. Confidence from a woman in all aspects of life is drop-dead sexy. And if I ever find a girl that can cook that would be amazing!
Describe your ideal date.
Something fun that gets the adrenaline pumping to help break the ice followed by something chill where we can chat, i.e. Six Flags followed by a picnic or mountain biking then a stop at a smoothie shop. The obligatory first date where you meet for drinks seems unavoidable so you know the other person isn't a creep and you don't have to commit too much time. If that clicks then let's get after it and do something fun.
What was it like sharing a cabin with a total stranger?
It was awkward. How are you supposed to "use the facilities" with a girl you met four hours earlier?
