JENNY BLATT

Age: 27
Hometown: Philadelphia, PA; resides in Philadelphia, PA

After walking in on her boyfriend of five years with another woman, Jenny Blatt knows how it feels to be burned by love. Though it took some time, she has bounced back and is ready to meet her Mr. Right. While Blatt is highly competitive due to her years in professional gymnastics, she does not like bugs or getting dirty, which might create difficulties in the wild. In a first date, she looks for an active, fun and well thought out activity to fill up her evening such as bowling, mini-golf or a baseball game.

Blatt attended Temple University and works as an advertising professional.

Whom did you feel most connected to during the competition?
Ben and I connected on a friend level right off the bat. While we never reached anything more, we were definitely best mates through my whole time there. I wish I had more time to explore my connections with Chase, but the Oasis got in the way. Summer and Ali became my best girlfriends, and I think I was most connected to them through the whole journey.

Ultimately, are you happy the additional contestants were brought in to mix it up?
Obviously I was happy there were more guys brought on because what girl wouldn't want a 2-1 ratio? But when the girls were brought on I wasn't thrilled. We all were forming connections and the additional girls shattered our initial progress, especially bringing them on three weeks in.

What behavior surprised you the most from the other contestants?
I was surprised at how awesome almost everyone was. You never know what's going to happen when you get that large of a group together but we became like a big family and I definitely didn't expect that.

What was your favorite challenge and why?
Even though we got last place, I loved the second challenge. Jumping off the cliff was such a rush. One of the funniest experiences of my life was when Ben and I couldn't catch that damn guinea fowl. Those things were like chickens on speed.

Was there anything off-screen that you feel the audience missed out on?
I spent a lot of time teaching Mike Sweet how to do handstands and cartwheels off camera. I think that if he had stayed longer, we would have maybe had a connection, as we have been staying in touch since being home.

Any fun anecdotes or run-ins with nature you'd like to share?
What you don't see is how seasick I got, both during the catamaran ride with the girls and on my sailboat date. I said to myself, if I win an adventure, I just hope the reward date is not a boat ride, and sure enough, it was. I literally threw up the entire time and have no idea how I survived. It was pure torture.

What did you learn about yourself through this experience?
I learned that maybe I am outdoorsy after all, except for anything on the high seas. I had so much fun traipsing through the jungle and getting down and dirty. I thought I was going to be so much more of a diva but I was kind of a badass!

Why did you decide to take part in this show?
I came on the show because I wanted an adventure and was hoping to meet someone special along the way. I had never done anything outdoorsy and all the guys in Philly are duds so it was a win-win situation!

Would you call yourself an outdoorsy person? Why or why not?
I'm the least outdoorsy person ever. For starters, I'm a pale ginger so unless SPF100 is on hand, I don't step foot outside. I also absolutely hate getting dirty and bugs give me the heebie geebies. I had never hiked or camped or even swam in the ocean before coming on the show, so this was definitely a first for me on every level.

What are you afraid of?
I'm afraid of the sun mostly and definitely of poisonous bugs and snakes.

What surprised you most about being in the jungle?
I was surprised the most by how much I actually liked the jungle. There was so much beauty and I just kept trying to take it all in. I was surprised at how much I tackled during the adventures since I'd never done any of that before. Jungle Jenny was a badass!

What was the hardest thing for you to live without?
Bagels. I live off of bagels and potato chips so the Dominican mystery meat wasn't cutting it!

What would other people say are your best qualities?
I think people enjoy my honesty and blunt humor. I'm super sarcastic and my bitchy comments make people laugh. I'm loyal and dependable and my heart is always in the right place, even though the things that come out of my mouth may not always be sweet.

Describe the worst date you've ever been on.
A guy took me to a BYOB Italian restaurant downtown where he brought a six-pack of lite beer for himself, drank all of it and then half of my bottle of wine before the entree came out. Later, while I was in the restroom, he ate my entire dessert and tried to get me to pay for the meal. He was so drunk that when we left the restaurant, he started trying to eat people's food on the way out. Extremely embarrassing!

What qualities do you find to be most important in your partner?
Loyalty and honesty are huge qualities that I look for. I don't trust easily so someone who can reassure me that his intentions are pure is a keeper. I also look for someone who's goofy and can laugh with me and at me.

Describe your ideal date.
My ideal date would be with someone who plans the whole thing out and is full of surprises. The cliche dinner and a movie date is boring and not impressive. I just want someone who's going to put forth effort and make me feel special.
