The Vivio family is built on a different scale. They're all over six feet tall, including mom Laverne. They live on a farm in rural Tennessee, where they're well known in their church and community. In 2008, disaster struck when the bridge over the family's creek collapsed, ruining Mark's right knee. While on the surgeon's table, Mark discovered he also had a life-threatening heart problem. That's when things really went south.
Unable to work, Mark was forced to fold his roofing business. He's been unemployed ever since, and currently drives a bus for his youngest sons' school to help with the cost of their tuition. Amidst the events of the past year, youngest son Elijah has fallen by the wayside. At 14 years old, he weighs 308 pounds, towering over his peers. Elijah has always been teased at school about his size, and he knows he has to make a change. Convinced he's a failure, Elijah needs Jillian's help to rebuild his confidence and self-worth.
