I'm so excited to be chatting with everyone after tonight's episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. If you didn't just watch tonight's episode (what are you, nuts?) here's what you missed. My former partner Elliot Stabler (played by the magnificent Emmy-nominated Christopher Meloni) is getting even more un-stabler than before and is up to his manly shoulders in hot water for beating up a suspect. Dani Beck, his partner while I was working undercover for the FBI, can't handle the psychological toll of working in SVU. So Olivia Benson (that's me) is called back to saddle up with Stabler and figure out how a model died and who murdered her.
Even though I've had the best time in my new role as mom to my wonderful baby boy August, it's great to be back in Olivia's boots again! When you've been on a show for eight years, the cast and crew become your second family, so it truly felt like a homecoming. I want to thank Connie Neilson, who brought an emotional intensity to her role as Dani Beck, the overeager detective who is crushed by the injustices of the system. I know she fulfilled many a viewer's dreams for Stabler to get a little make-out on the stakeout. But from here on out, it's back to business for Olivia and Elliott.
We are already hard at work on provocative new episodes filled with interesting dynamics between the characters and more surprising guest stars. I'm eager to hear what you thought of tonight's episode which featured such amazing actors, Bernadette Peters, Catherine Bell, Chris Sarandon, and Bob Saget, who is a dear friend of mine and has such a dark sense of humor. I LOVE him. Catherine is a sweetheart and a total tech girl; every day she brought in a different gadget to play with. Now it's my turn, as we go live.
So send in a question or a comment and I'll talk to you soon.
