Law and Order: SVU

WEDNESDAYS 9/8c

Location, Location, Location

Hi everyone!  Rob here, one of the writers' assistants for the new group of writers starting this season.  We just finished shooting our second episode (which will air fourth), and I couldn't believe how many awesome locations we shot at all over the city-at all hours of the day and night.  Last week, we filmed at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, a townhouse in Hell's Kitchen, outside the New York City Supreme Court building on Centre Street, and the middle of Times Square, where we rented a jumbo-tron and turned it into a giant green-screen while we shot.  People on their way to work seemed pretty confused to see Ice-T and Richard Belzer pointing at a giant blank green screen... but at 7am, I think most were too tired to question it...

This week, we shot a teaser sequence and an action sequence way up in Inwood, in and around Fort Tryon Park-an amazing and ridiculously picturesque park that doesn't seem like it should be in Manhattan, but is.  It's been a long week, but worth it!  This year, the writers are focused on making New York City a character in the show, and we're filming in locations all over Manhattan.

If you live or work in the city, keep an eye out for our crew-we might be in your neighborhood next!
