A case is reopened when Olivia is led to the body of a 7 year-old boy (Jeffrey Ronsen), who disappeared in 1980, after receiving an anonymous tip. In 1980, the cops identified Lucas Biggs, a professional ball player, as the murderer, but the evidence fell short of a guilty verdict. In present day, Lucas Biggs is on death row for the kidnapping and murder of another victim, and Cragen and Benson suspect this is a ploy to prolong his death sentence. In reopening the investigation, they discover that Lucas in fact was innocent of molesting Jeffrey; however, he did molest his friend and teammate Deacon. who in turn molested Jeffrey and another teammate of theirs (Avery). Jeffrey fought back and Deacon snapped his neck during the struggle, and buried him.
