Benson and Stabler are called to an apartment to discover two Asian children, a six-year-old girl with her nine-month-old baby sister, who have been left alone for weeks with no sign of their mother. The detectives pay a visit to the children's Aunt Li Mei, who eventually confesses that Jiao, their mother, has a third daughter who she was forced to leave behind when coming to the United States. She paid smugglers to collect her daughter, and left her other children behind in the apartment to pick her up at immigration.
