A newborn baby is found dead in a storm drain. Various leads facilitate the SVU team finding the mother, also dead, in a nearby apartment. When the ME rules the woman's death a homicide, the detectives continue their investigation. The evidence trail leads them to a couple who had planned to adopt the baby. Benson and Stabler are immediately suspicious of the husband once they catch him in a number of lies.
