The daughter of an Afghan diplomat is left for dead in Central Park after having been seemingly raped, repeatedly stabbed, and beaten with stones. The SVU detectives arrest her boyfriend, but he claims that the sex was consensual and that he was actually hiding her from her father. The detectives learn that the father had promised his daughter to a Taliban minister as part of a political deal that would enable him to return to Afghanistan, but because she she was no longer a virgin, she became unfit for marriage. The father loses his "ticket" home as well as his honor for not being able to control his daughter. As a result, the father orders his son to restore the family honor by brutally killing his "vicemonger" sister.
