It's Saturday, but El Sereno mortgage associates Dante Rojas, Jorge Santiago, Nancy Jiminez, Pablo Bolano and Lisa Perez are working through lunch. Head of the firm Armando Vela is meeting with Jose and Maria Cruz, who are hoping to buy a house in foreclosure and are still waiting on paperwork. Debbie Beltran sticks her head in the office to say she has to leave for a church picnic. Later, Maria and Jose take a call from Vela. The good news is they're getting the foreclosed house they want. The bad news? Multiple shots can be heard through the phone. When Vela starts screaming, Maria and Jose fear the worst and call 911. Not long afterwards, TJ and Winters find six corpses and nine-millimeter casings by the office door. The perp came in shooting, then took wallets and watches.
