LAICC will be hosting a community outreach event on Saturday, July 25tth from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The event is being called Project 3:16. The purpose of this event is to come along side those in our community whom may be hurting and facing uncertain times resulting from the current economical crisis in our nation.
As of today, the unemployment rate for North Hollywood alone is about 8% and nationwide at 10%. Not to mention the households that are living at poverty level or even worse, below. Members of our community are not able to meet their basic needs. Local food banks are at a record low. Based on this, one of our desires for this event is to give to each household attending one bag of groceries. The items selected for the bags have been chosen with the idea of subsidizing 2 – 3 meals (canned foods, pasta, pasta sauces, baby foods, etc).
