Claire Bennet was working at Sam's Comics in Costa Verde and secretly aiding former Building 26 fugitives who passed through town. Then one-time enemy Rachel Mills arrived, hot on the trail of a former Primatech agent -- Mensen -- who had tried to attack Rachel's mother, Leona.

Working together, Rachel and Claire captured the former Primatech agent, only to see him shot by his allies. Before Mensen died, he revealed that his group was hunting down people who might have information about Sabine Hazel, another former agent whose baby will have incredible powers. Then Micah Sanders arrived in town, intent on stopping the group and its vengeful leader, Eric Thompson, Jr.

As battle looms, college-bound Claire has to find time to say her goodbyes.
