Alone

I stand there in the dark, processing.

"I'll call you back, buddy," I tell Volts. He doesn't respond. "Volts?"

I look down at my cell phone. No signal. Dammit. I know what happens next, but I try dialing Danko's office anyway.

"All circuits are busy."

They've taken me completely off the grid. Text book. Next comes the assault. I grab my gun off the bed, tuck Danko's file under my arm, and head for the door.

But then my phone buzzes: text message.

"I KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO"
