Back in the Interview

The interview room smells like bad coffee. The interviewer guy just got back with a cup. He didn't ask me if I wanted any. He sees me looking and pretends to be surprised.

"Oh, did you want some coffee?" he says.

"Nope," I say.

"Okay, Rachel ... Mills," he says, re-checking the personnel file.

Yeah, like he's forgotten my name. I don't know much about this organization, but he probably has my personnel file memorized. Which means he's being rude to test me. I'm going to take that as a good sign: at least I'm still in the running.

He's been talking while I've been thinking.

"What?" I say.

"I said: Go on with your story."
