"I understand this," the chairwoman of Pinehearst's Strategic Human Initiatives Committee says.

"Then why the delay?!" you say. "Red Eye could be doing anything to her, as we speak."

"I understand that you've formed an attachment for this girl--"

"It's not just her! She's a weapon, in Red Eye's hands. And the Kill Squad is a major--"

"Don't interrupt me," Priscilla says.

You sit down.

"Better," she says. "Now. The search for the Kill Squad and for Anna have been suspended until further notice."

"Why?!" you say.

"I like you," Priscilla says, "and so I'm going to show you why. Follow me."
