Karen Olivo got her first start on stage at six years old after her musical director father put her in a play.
"I think I was probably in my first community theatre production when I was seven or eight, and I thought, nothing feels as good as this."
Olivo's first Broadway role was Mimi in "Rent."
She originated the role of Vanessa in the Tony Award-winning musical "In The Heights" both on- and off-Broadway.
In 2009 Olivo won a Tony Award for her performance as Anita in the revival of "West Side Story."
In 2010 her run on "West Side Story" was abruptly cut short after she broke her foot in a freak stage accident.
Before "Harry's Law," Olivo had a recurring role on "The Good Wife" playing law student Giada Cabrini.
Olivo is married to fellow actor Matt Caplan who's currently performing on Broadway in "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark."
