Game Ogre

Here we used the Grimm tale "Jack the Giant Killer" as our main inspiration,
which is where our Siegbarste (Ogre) character came from. We wanted to pay
more attention to Hank's past and introduce a divide between the law and his
own ideologies. It was also important for us to address Aunt Marie's earlier
warning to Nick about having to end his relationship with Juliette. Directly
jeopardizing her safety introduces a new hurdle for him to address.

Let Your Hair Down

For this episode, we delved into the Grimm brothers' tale "Rapunzel," a classic story of
abduction and salvation (not to mention one wild head of hair). What we wanted to do was take
the idea of "the helpless innocent" the Grimm brothers created and add our own little twist...
the result: a victim held prisoner by her own feral nature.

The Three Bad Wolves

December 10, 2011 at 02:37

This time around, we decided to invert the classic set up of "The Three Little Pigs"
into a tale of vigilante justice. What attracted us to this particular tale was the
room it allowed to really explore Monroe's past. As the case unravels, old
rivalries will be redefined and loyalties tested as Nick tries to break a cycle of
vengeance going back centuries.

The Hour of Death In this episode, we really wanted to play with the notion of having another Grimm coming into the picture, even if it was just an imposter. The concept initially revolved around a self-loathing Wesen, and from there, we simply expanded... More»
